We’ve changed our name: Say hello to My Crossword Maker!
Our keen-eyed users may have noticed a subtle change on our website today: we have a new name! Crossword Hobbyist is now officially My Crossword Maker!
Though our name and URL have changed, nothing else about the site is different. You’ll find the same layout, the same great features, and all of your saved puzzles exactly where you left them.
We believe this new name better reflects our diverse community and helps bring continuity to our trio of easy-to-use sites. See our detailed FAQ below for additional information about our name change.
Why did your name change to My Crossword Maker?
When we started Crossword Hobbyist in 2012, our primary audience consisted mainly of people who wanted to create professional, newspaper-style puzzles for publication, and those who made single puzzles for special events, such as birthdays .
Eight years later, we’re delighted that our community has expanded. Now, our ranks include all kinds of users–teachers and trainers, bloggers, HR departments, parents, and–of course–the cruciverbalists who have been with us since the beginning.
In this last decade, we’ve also added two new sister sites, My Word Search and My Worksheet Maker to our resource family. Now, we have a trio of sites our community can use to make their classroom assignments, activities for special events, fun projects, and materials for publication.
To better represent this growth (and to be more consistent with the sister sites), the name Crossword Hobbyist needed a refresh. Thus, My Crossword Maker was born.
Did anything else about the website site with the name?
Our name changed, but our services did not. You may notice that now we have a new web address: mycrosswordmaker.com However, if you go to the old site, you will be automatically redirected to the correct page. Additionally, the new name is in the logo and some of the text has been updated on the new site and our social media sites. That is where the changes end.
Will crosswordhobbyist.com still be active? What about my bookmarked links? Embedded Puzzles?
Our old Crossword Hobbyist domain isn’t going anywhere. If you visit crosswordhobbyist.com, you will be automatically redirected to your content on the new site. All of your puzzles will be saved, just where you left them on your account.
Your embedded puzzles should work just the same as before without any issue. If you encounter any problems, please contact our friendly support team for assistance.
Does the name update change anything about my account or saved puzzles?
Not at all. Nothing will change about your saved puzzles or account. You can visit mycrosswordmaker.com directly or crosswordhobbyist.com, which will redirect you to the new site. Once you log in, all of your saved puzzles and favorite features will still be there waiting for you.
How will this name change impact my billing statements?
Depending on your financial institution, you may see our updated name on your account statement.
What about emails and customer support?
You will see our new name on our website and other materials. Starting tomorrow, any emails about your account will come from the My Crossword Maker (@mycrosswordmaker) domain instead of Crossword Hobbyist.
